January 2008 - With the expansion of FTS Hatswell's warehousing operation to include a new 4,500 pallet operation, the company had no doubt they would need a best of breed WMS from day one in order to give them the automated location control, traceability and reporting functions they required.

After reviewing a number of systems and speaking with other major players in the industry one name was recommended time and time again, DeltaWMS.  This recommendation came from our fixed price commitment to customers, excellent customer service, Delta's track record of implementing systems in tight time scales and our 'one-stop-shop' ethos which enables us to supply, install, support and even repair all hardware as well as WMS software typically 15% cheaper than the competition.

October 2007 - Worldwide Storage Solutions, are a newly formed third party warehouse Operator based in Liverpool who were looking for a solution on which their striving business could grow.

After reviewing a variety of warehousing systems, the company had the foresight to implement a ‘best of breed’ system from day one, recognising that the technology and control DeltaWMS offers, would place them in an optimum position to attract new customers to the business.  With healthy growth already forecasted, Worldwide Storage Solutions wanted a system that could grow easily and affordably with the business incorporating radio frequency barcode scanning in the not to distant future.

September 2007 - When Haven Warehousing and Distribution Ltd neared completion of a £6m, purpose built, temperature controlled, 22,000 pallet warehouse in Scunthorpe, it became apparent that their current WMS supplier would not be able to provide the service, support or functionality that was required for the new site.

With daily deliveries into Tesco, Asda, Aldi and Summerfield, Haven required an incredibly complex solution that had to be robust, well supported and could be put in place very quickly with a required ‘go live’ date of 1 October 2007.  After selecting Delta Software at the beginning of September, Haven began receiving stock in a ‘live environment’ using RDT’s on 1 October. By the 30 October they had received almost 10,000 pallets for one client alone.

August 2007 - Direction Marketing the Didcot based warehousing and fulfilment company had already purchased Delta Software’s bonded warehouse system DeltaBOND, so when it came to looking for a warehouse management system to control the other parts of their warehousing operation DeltaWMS was the logical choice. The integration of DeltaBOND and DeltaWMS will provide Direction Marketing with a state of the art, highly functional wine and spirit control system that complies with all the regulations required by HMR&C and a full blown warehouse management system covering all areas of the warehousing business. The implementation of DeltaWMS will allow the company to attract additional business that previously had been difficult for them to tender for because the previous system could not deal with the increased volumes required.

August 2007 - TransHaul - Modern third party warehousing companies need modern systems to compete in a very competitive logistics sector, they also need a supplier that understands their industry and is ready to respond to the ever changing requirements of their many different clients. Trans Haul, based in Flitwick realised that their current warehouse management system supplier was just not up to job of providing them with the system to move the business forward. After a number of meetings and demonstrations Trans Haul chose DeltaWMS as the system for them. The warehouse map, a key function of the system, flexible reporting options, enhanced invoicing and the Radio Frequency scanning module were all major features that Trans Haul would deliver major benefits to their business. They also had a client whose main requirement was a system that had a “kitting” option. DeltaWMS has a kitting option, but after discussing its functionality both companies agreed that improvements could be made and work started immediately on improving the way it worked to meet the client’s needs. It was this flexible business approach that had been lacking from the previous supplier that gave Trans Haul the confidence to change systems.

August 2007 - Seckford Wines one of the few truly independent traditional wine importers left in the UK, was still using one of the old character based systems to manage their bonded warehouse full of extremely expensive fine wines held for their own account and of their many clients. Changing bonded warehouse stock control systems is a major business decision as it also requires agreement from HMR&C. Because of the implications if the wrong decision was made, Seckford Wines considered many different options but after seeing DeltaBOND both the management and staff knew that this was the system for them.  There were no issues from HMR&C as DeltaBOND had been successfully implemented in 10 different bonded warehouses in the last 2 years with a number of others going through the process currently.

August 2007 - Squibb & Davies - Demolition is not the sort of business you would usually associate with warehouse management. But Squibb & Davies (Demolition) based in Barking, East London had a major problem controlling all the tools and equipment that they used in their day to day operations. The company had invested in a new warehouse to store in the region of 3000 items, ranging from Protective Gloves, Pick Axes, Fire Extinguishers, Wheel Barrows and other mechanical equipment that had to be delivered on time to the various sites around the country for their team to use. Controlling how much equipment had been delivered to site and when, what had been returned and how much had been written off was a major logistical problem and had significant financial implications. Because they were never sure of the stock situation they either bought new equipment only to find that they had plenty of that item at a site that was due back, or items were being lost and not returned and they couldn’t supply sites as quickly as they would have liked as they had to purchase more stock. DeltaWMS warehouse map and unique location control, along with the highly flexible reporting options will allow Squibb & Davies to control stock more efficiently and in improve traceability of all the different products they deal with on a day to day basis.
